and then there were 3.

The day has finally come and looking back the pain was all
worth it. I started off having contractions on the night of
the 2nd. They were anywhere from 15-30 minutes apart
and lasted all night. Then the next day I was fine and only
had a few here and there. That night we went over to some
friends for dinner and I started paying attention to the
clock and realized they were starting to be every 5 minutes.
So we went home and timed them and after 3 hours of it
decided to go in. I was only dialated to a 2 so I decided
to go home and ride it out. Then they were 10 minutes
apart for the rest of that night and getting very intense.
The doctor was hoping I could wait until Monday to
come and see him and then decide on a Vbac or a C-
section, I called that next morning and told the nurse
to schedule a C for Friday because I knew one more
night of this would be enough. The doc called me right
back and told me to get in the hospital so we could get
things figured out. I went in at 11:00 a.m. and he admitted
me and then it was just a waiting game. I contracted
until 4:30, after which decided I would choose a c-section
over that any day. It could've been lack of sleep and the
fact that I had been pretty much in labor for 2 days now.
They finally gave me the epidural and then I was much
happier. I dialated really slow and finally when I got to
a 6 he decided he was seeing a little too much bleeding
so he made the call to take me in to do a c-section. My
gut told me all along that was what was going to happen,
but I wanted to try a natural one, what I was thinking, I
have no idea. I think mainly because it's cheaper and I
would heal much quicker. Just my luck though I got to
do both! Now at least I can empathize with all you women
who have contractions.

The only reason I'm happy in this picture is because I know
what the outcome of all this pain is bringing me.

I haven't had an epidural yet, but I'm in between contractions so I
somehow managed to smile:)

Of course he's happy! No pain.
My mom has been waiting for this day forever too.
The trusted doctors. And yes, I'm smiling because I've had my
epidural.
SEXY!

The moment has come! I'm trying to catch a sneak peak.
It was awesome because my doctor, who we are friends with
let us video the birth! It's only about 30 seconds worth of
video and totally not gross or anything, but so neat to see
how it's done and the actual moment he arrives. I couldn't
believe what they do with my stomach and that
my actual incision is only as big as it is with what they do
to me. Crazy.
Welcome: Kaden Joseph Dille. 8lbs 15ounces 21 inches long.
Born: June 4th 2009 @ 10:43 p.m. In this picture he looks
so much like both of my kids.
I just arrived in recovery about 15 min before this picture. It was
so awesome being able to hold him so soon (compared to my first
delivery). I am so in love with him.
My mom got to go to the NICU with him while Joe stayed with me
for a little bit in the operating room. She was in heaven of course.

Some other visitors. Joe's mom.

Stacy and Jordan.

Rachelle and Berkley. Berkley has been dying for Kaden to
be born and she was more exctited to hold him then my own
kids were.
Brady wasn't sure what to think. He loves him now, but still
shows no interest in holding him.

It's a little weird to think we are now a family of 5!
I had some sweet moments alone in the hospital with him.

Such a content boy.

So happy to have him here and can't imagine my life without him.

Awwww...that was a great post. Thank you for sharing your story and the whole minute by minute, or maybe, hour by hour. When Heidi called to tell me that you had the baby, it was very hard for me not to storm the hospital and come hold that little guy. Congratulations! I am so happy for you. Your family sure is growing. He is a handsome little guy. Cute name too. Congrats again.

Congratulations! He's beautiful and I love his name. The 4th is a lucky date in our family as well, that's Carters birthday and he just turned two. So Kaden picked a good day to make his way into this world.

The pictures are darling. Good luck in the upcoming weeks. I believe you'll have him sleeping through the night soon, I think the hardest part is convincing yourself it is possible, then it's pure will and routine. Hugs to you all!
