So we went to the air show last weekend and when we bought our
tickets it said gates open at 9:00 and flying begins @ 11:30. So
we show up at 11:00 and have to park at the speedway and get
shuttles over to the airport which is a story in and of itself. I'll
keep it short and say that it took us about 40 min. to get there.
Then we hear that the Blue Angels don't start until 3:00!! Oh boy. It was hot and sweaty and I didn't know if we would make it, but we
did and it was worth it.
Future pilot?
Brady wasn't liking the noise. Most of the time he just stayed
some more. Thank goodness I had an umbrella in my stroller that
I had forgot about, the sun was hot! Finally we went inside the airport
for about an hour and just cooled off for a while. When we came back
out the show started about 1/2 hour later.
Luckily after it was over Joe just went and took the bus back to his pickup and then came back and picked us up at the airport. It was too much work trying to get the stoller we had back into the back of a bus and then waiting in line outside, etc. etc.
While we waited for Joe we walked around and looked inside a little private plane, got some toy planes for them at one of the stands they had and then saw the pilots signing autographs for people. I couldn't believe how young they all were. It looked like early to mid 20's. I was expecting some more experience 40 year olds or something. They were awesome. It was a fun family event.
*Side note: We were going to meet up with Mark and Jaylynn and Macy
was waiting to see them, we never did, but the whole first 1/2 hour of the
planes she was yelling at the top of her lungs, "look Mark and Jaylynn at
the airplanes, mom where is mark and jaylynn." I mean over and over!
