I was in my bedroom folding laundry and Joe was laying on the
bed watching T.V. and the kids were out back playing. It took
me about 10 minutes to finish it and I went out to go put
everything away and noticed the garage door slightly open.
Not usually a big deal, they go out there and ride their bikes
or draw on the chalkboard. I put the kids clothes away and
came back into the laundry room and noticed I wasn't hearing
them. I peeked out and Joe's side of the garage was open!
I looked outside and didn't see them so I ran back in the house
yelling at Joe to come here and went and looked out back to
see if maybe they were still back there. NOPE! I ran back
through the house yelling at Joe once more (why is it they have
to be yelled at twice)?! As I got back into the garage I noticed
that their bikes were missing!! AAAAAHHHHH. Joe hopped
into the car and I told him the way I usually take the kids on
a bike ride. The whole time I'm just thinking, 'how many
streets have they had to cross'!? So I'm just standing there
waiting very impatiently in the driveway waiting, waiting, so
I decided to walk down the other way and look down to see if
I could see them. As I got the the end of our street I could see
two bikes in the distance down at our neighborhood park and
sure enough there were the kids having a good ole' time (alone)
playing on the toys. Just as I saw them I could see Joe coming
along and he pulled up along side them and gave them a good
talking to and here they both game riding pretty fast towards
home. Can you believe that? I thought maybe one of them got
in my car and opened up the garage door, but turns out we're
pretty sure Joe just forgot to close it. ooops. Man am I grateful
to Heavenly Father nothing worse happened. My mind wanders
and there are plenty of things that could have gone horribly
wrong. Thank goodness it didn't.
