We took a super fun trip to Salt Lake the week after Christmas and I'm hoping this can be an annual tradition for our family. We've never really taken a trip mainly for the kids so it was fun to see how excited they were. The most exciting thing for them really was that we were staying in a hotel. The first thing we did was went to In n Out.....Duh, then drove around downtown for a bit and basically just headed to the hotel because the kids just wanted to go there and only there! They were dying to go swimming, but that was a let down because we were unable to see it online when we booked the hotel and it was like a lap pool and went from 3 1/2 feet to 6 feet so basically they got to swim on the edge of the one end. Plus there were so many chemicals in it it hurt my face! Oh well, didn't have to get wet the next night at least! The next day we went to the Dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving point. That was really interesting for Joe and I to read and learn about and the kids were just fascinated by it all.
A quick trip to Nordstom Rack where only Joe found something, what? Then off to temple square to take in all it's beauty. It was the perfect weather for it, in the 50's so just a light jacket was perfect for us. The lights down there are absolutely AMAZING! I want to know how long it takes them to do that and how many workers they use for it.
The next morning we headed to Discovery kids where the kids were just in awe. It was such a fun, imaginative place that they had fun exploring for about 4-5 hours total. I love that you can take a break to go eat and shop a little to break up the day. It's in the perfect location! Their favorite part was the helicopter and the grocery store. Kaden loved the horse too.
We headed out of there around 5 then stopped and grabbed dinner then back home. Got home just in time to see the ball drop on New Years and then hit the pillow. What a memorable trip. I DO love my kids!!
