Joe called me about 6:00 the other night and
said that he didn't know if we could go out
because he dropped a 150 to 200 lb. piece
of steel on his foot. He said really calmly too.
So I was a little worried asking him if he was
okay and he said it hurt and he was limping
but he thought he'd be okay. I asked him when
he'd be home and he still had to go to the expo
center for a little bit where their company was
doing the home and garden show. He shows up
at home at 8:30! He says hi to all of us and I look
down at his boot and his boot is cut and he told me
there was blood on his sock. He goes in our bedroom
to take off his boot and sure enough I hear him
yelling for me to bring him a towel. Poor guy, here
you have it. I know it's kinda gross, but I had to get
the close up in here otherwise you can't tell how big the
cut is. Luckily Joe's mom Dea came in and watched the
kids while we took him to the E.R. where we sat and waited
for 2 1/2 hours! That was fun. He's a trooper though.
Just to set the record straight on what happened. He
was loading a crane extender and he had another guy
helping him. The other guy dropped his end and Joe
didn't see him so it slipped out of Joe's hand too. Landed
right on top of his foot. The doctor was shocked that
he didn't break his foot. Lucky he had really good boots
on. He said if he would have been wearing tennis shoes
or something he probably would have lost a toe and broke
his foot. His bone is pretty sore but he's hoping to play
basketball again next week!

BEWARE!! There's BLOOD!
Everytime Joe gets home from work she wants to see
it.
asleep in 5 minutes, but I wouldn't let him. We had
a really talkative male nurse so I wasn't about to sit
and chit chat with him alone!

Ouch! That looks like it hurt.
That is SICK! I love that you take your camera everywhere!
That's a guy for ya, getting back on the court next week? Is he sure about that?
YUCK Jana! I feel bad for the guy, that really looks painful. I keep my camera in my purse...you never know when you might need it!
One more thing.....okay, I just got your comment on my favorite things post...you haven't read TWILIGHT????? Oh my Jana, you better start. You won't be able to put it down and then you'll have to run out and buy the other two. AND THEN, you will be dying because the fourth and final book won't be out until August...its a sad, sad world.
I should have made those rules, but I didn't in the beginning, so I don't think it would be fair...nice try though Jana :)
I just read Brandi's comment that you haven't read Twilight...Did I tell you that the author of the Twilight series is my cousin? They really are great books, you should take the plunge into a great read.
Unfortunately, I don't get any inside info. Nothing worth passing on at least. I am like you...I can really only read one book at a time. However, I have read each of the Twilight books in just a weekend....so...if you can get a weekend all to yourself you could knock out at least one book. And then try another weekend. Then you can still read the Book of Mormon throughout the week. Ok, I'll stop telling you what to do...hee hee.
Yeah, your priorities will definitely switch if you started Twilight...that is a PROMISE! However, once you start them, it won't be long until you are done with all 3 of them! Its just not possible to only read Twilight...you'll be yearning for more!
Joe, sorry the foot. But another question for you, what about that curved toe, looks like it might need some work too. Hope your feeling better soon.
Jana & Joe. that last comment from amy was really from me. Sorry about the mix up, but I was disturbed by the curved toe as well as the nice gash in your foot. It was way good to see you guys the other weekend. Your kids are great. I can't believe WE are getting to be so old that our kids can play together. Wow. Life sure goes by when your not paying attention.
